As we continue to grow and elevate our program with the next generation of players from the Cheyenne community, we recognize the need for additional resources to support our athletes; namely, two new buses and a new van to get our Sixers safely to and from games, tournaments, and even championship events.
That’s where our “Wheels for Winning” campaign comes in.
All funds raised through the campaign will go toward replacing our current vehicle fleet—one that's traveled hundreds of thousands of miles, frequently left the team stranded on the side of the road, and required constant repairs.
Example of conditions on our current fleet.
Two new buses like this one will help our Sixers travel safely for years to come.
Your support is crucial in helping us maintain our standard of excellence and continue building champions both on and off the field. Please consider contributing to this exciting next step for the Cheyenne Post Six Baseball Program. Together, we can ensure that future generations of players will continue to have the tools they need to succeed and carry on our proud tradition of success.
For decades, the Cheyenne Post Six Baseball Program has been the pride of our Cheyenne community; a symbol of perseverance, talent, and the relentless pursuit of greatness. With a staggering 36 state titles, including 9 of the last 10 (21 in 24 years), we have proven ourselves as a powerhouse in Wyoming baseball and beyond. Our commitment to excellence has also earned us a place among the top teams in the region, having made the American Legion regional championship game five times since 1991.
In 2019, we became the first Wyoming baseball team to qualify for the Connie Mack World Series. Then, in 2023, our hard work paid off again in a historic way when we captured the regional championship—the first time in history a Wyoming team won the title. The championship secured our spot at the prestigious American Legion World Series in Shelby, North Carolina. There, we battled among the nation’s finest and reached the semi-finals, marking another milestone in our program’s storied history.
But our success is not just measured in wins and trophies. The Cheyenne Post Six Baseball Program has served as a launchpad for countless young men, helping them fulfill their goals of playing baseball at the collegiate and professional levels.
Indeed, dozens of our alumni have gone on to shine on the collegiate and national stages, a testament to the dedication and training they received right here in Cheyenne.
As just one recent example, 19 of the 24 players who saw playing time for the 2022 Sixers went on to play college athletics. Numerous players from our program have also been drafted to play professional baseball, including most notably New York Mets superstar Brandon Nimmo, who was selected in the first round of the 2011 Major League Baseball Draft. (To see the recent success of young men going on to play at higher levels, see the “Sixers in College” section of the site.)
It is truly extraordinary that the Cheyenne Post Six Baseball Program has been so successful despite making ends meet on a shoestring budget every year.
We thank you for your generosity and commitment to our young athletes, and we look forward to celebrating many more victories with you!
