Post 6 is thrilled to have The Sixers Skipper Ty Lain back at the helm for 2024. When Ty stepped in following his father Tagg Lain, the challenge of matching the level of success Tagg had wasn’t going to be easy. All Coach Ty Lain has done is elevate the program to new heights and raise the bar even higher! Coach Ty Lain is entering his 9th season as Program Manager for Cheyenne Post 6. During his previous 8 seasons Lain has won 7 Wyoming AA State Championships and had the 2019 Sixers forego the State Tournament as the only Wyoming team in history to qualify for the Connie Mack World Series. Last year Lain led the Sixers to Wyoming's first ever Regional Championship and a final 4 appearance in the American Legion World Series. Over his 8 seasons leading Post 6, the Sixers are 472-156 (.752 W%) and have reset the single season wins record 3 times. Coach Lain has also sent 31 players on to play at the collegiate level during his time as the head coach. Prior to being the Manager, Ty coached as a Varsity assistant under his father Tagg Lain for 4 seasons winning 3 State Championships, and spent one season as an assistant at Regis University. Lain played 5 seasons on the Sixers varsity and is top 5 all time in career hits, doubles, and RBI. He went on to play 4 years of college baseball at New Mexico JC (1 year), Mississippi Gulf Coast CC (1 year), and Regis University (2 years) and was apart of the only Regis baseball team in school history to win the RMAC tournament. "This program has been my life and my family ever since I can remember. When I was done playing I knew that I wanted to come back to Cheyenne and help keep the tradition of excellence alive. The national reputation of baseball players in Wyoming has grown tremendously, and hopefully we can continue to grow it even more."
