Post 6 is happy to have Coach David “Laz” Lazarus back with Post 6. He is now in his 11th year as a coach for the Sixers. He began his coaching Career in 2009, hired by coach Tagg Lain to be an assistant for the Indians inaugural season. From then on, he’s had various coaching assignments at every level in the program, highlighted by a state title as the manager of the prep team in 2013. More recently, Laz has been an assistant for the Varsity the past 4 seasons, coaching infield and hitting an INSANE amount of fly balls and ground balls! Over that tenure winning 4 consecutive state titles and a regional championship. Laz played for the Sixers from 2003-2008. Winning 3 AA state titles and a regional runner up in 2006. “Post 6 has been a huge part of my life since I was 14. The coaches I had through each level of the program made a lasting impression on me and influenced who I am today. 20 years ago, on the back of a hot bus somewhere between Rapid City and nowhere, we had thoughts of coaching the Sixers one day. I’m grateful I’ve had that opportunity and to have met so many amazing people along the way.” “I wouldn’t be able to coach as much as I do if it wasn’t for the support from my girlfriend Emily, mom Michele and the rest of my family. Thank you!!” Laz is a PE and Health teacher at McCormick Jr High, head coach of the 7th grade football team, and an assistant for the Central High Men’s basketball team.
