Post 6 is excited to bring Nico Vite back to coach in the program he did so much for as a player! This will be Coach Vite’s first year coaching and he will be assisting on the Indians squad. Nico spent 7 years as a standout in the Post 6 organization, helping propel his teams to 4 state championships in his time. In his last, Coach Vite had one of the biggest moments in Post 6 history. Post 6 had a young squad that year and were playing in the undefeated game for a trip to the State Title game. Against a tough veteran group from Gillette, Post 6 trailed 5-0 going into the middle innings. And the young Post 6 squad needed one of its senior leaders to step up. Nico provided that! After a barrage of hits created 2 runs and a full house on the bases, Coach Vite came up and unloaded the bases with a grand slam homerun to put post 6 ahead. The Sixers went on to win that game by one, and win another State Title. After Post 6, Coach Vite went to play collegiately at Southeastern in Iowa, Garden City CC in Kansas, and finished up at Upper Iowa University. Coach Vite on why he wanted to come back to coach in The Sixer program: “Post Six helped shape me into the person and player I have become. Being able to develop and get to the college level was very rewarding. I hope to get kids on the right path to where they can play at a high level and go on college or be successful in whatever they want to do in life.” Post 6 and its players are lucky to have Coach Vite back in the mix!
