In another Collegiate Sixer Spotlight, we come to you with our gridiron edition! Xander Jarosh played 2 years with Post 6 before taking his talents to the University of Jamestown to play defensive back for the Jimmies! With Post 6, Xander was an extremely reliable arm that The Sixers manager Ty Lain could use in multiple pitching roles. An example of that came in a 9 day span in July of the 2022 season. In those 9 days Xander got 3 wins for Post 6 in very different fashions. The first came with Xander starting on the bump and throwing 6.1 innings (101 pitches) to earn the win and striking out 7. Five days later Xander came out of the bullpen in a high leverage situation with the game tied, threw 3 pitches to got one out for the win after Post 6 walked it off in the bottom of the next inning. Three days later, Xander came in out of the bullpen again, throwing 2 innings (36 pitches) to earn the win. Xander was whatever his teammates and coaches needed him to be on the mound, and always an amazing teammate and leader. Xander’s team first mindset and consistent presence help set the standard for a Post 6 staff that set numerous team records in 2021 and 2022. In those two seasons, Xander and his Sixer teammates went 137-31 with two State Titles and a Regional Runner Up. Xander just finished his sophomore season with the Jimmies where he played 11 games, recording 28 total tackles, 15 solo tackles, 1 interception, and 1 fumble recovery. Post 6 is excited to see Xander making plays on the gridiron next fall for Jamestown!
