Bret Fanning - Bret “The Jet” Fanning played for Post 6 from 2004-2006. During his varsity career, Post 6 won three straight Wyoming state championships and became just the third Post 6 team to advance to the Regional Championship game in 2006. Bret was named to the Wyoming All-State 1st team in 2005 and 2006. He was also named the Wyoming State Tournament MVP in 2006 after hitting for the cycle against Riverton and tallying 12 hits, 7 RBI, and 6 SB in the tournament. Over his career, Bret batted .404 (257-636) with 23 triples, 161 RBIs, 232 runs scored, and 119 stolen bases. When Bret graduated from the program in 2006, he held single-season Post 6 records for at-bats (338), hits (127), singles (84), and stolen bases (91). After his career with Post 6, Bret went on to play baseball at the University of New Mexico (2006-2008), the University of Northern Colorado (2009-2011), and the Cheyenne Grizzlies (2007-2011). Bret is currently an Auditing Manager at the Wyoming Department of Audit. He and his wife, Jill, live in Cheyenne.
Patrick Farrell - Patrick Farrell won 3 state titles while playing for Post 6. The first title was won on the Prep team in 2002, and the other two with the Sixers in 2004 and 2005. Patrick is credited with hitting the first home run at Powers Field. He went on to play college baseball at Colby Community College and Regis University. At Regis, he set a career slugging percentage (.777) mark and had the most career intentional walks. In 2010, he led the NCAA in home-runs-per-at-bat with 20 home runs in 144 at-bats before season-ending knee surgery. Voted Regis University’s Athlete of the Year in 2010, he was then drafted by the New York Mets. Patrick is an air traffic controller for the FAA at Kansas City Center. He lives with his wife, Erin, in Kansas City, Kansas.
Chris Lovas - Lovas graduated from Cheyenne Central High School in 2006 as an All-State baseball, football, and track athlete. An infielder, he played single seasons for Post 6 Prep and Hawks, then two years with the Sixers. His senior year, he batted .390 and stole 76 bases (2nd all-time), helping earn his team the single-season team stolen bases record. He won two Wyoming State Championships in 2005 and 2006 with Post 6 and was key in a Regional Runner-Up finish in 2006. Coach Tagg Lain describes Chris as a hustler and a high-energy, hard-working, and team-first player. Chris went on to play 3 years of Division 1 baseball for North Dakota State University where he earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Civil Engineering. Volunteering in his community is a priority as he is involved with Meals on Wheels, Big Brothers/Big Sisters, and activities through his church. Chris is a partner at AVI Engineering and lives in Cheyenne with his wife, Kristen, and their two children, Rhett and Leighton.
Billy McHenry - Billy McHenry had an outstanding 5-year career for Post 6 from 2003 to 2007. He played on Prep (2003), Hawks (2004), and the Sixers (2005-2007). He was instrumental in helping the Sixers win the Wyoming State Championship in 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2006, he helped only the third Post 6 team to ever advance to the Regional Championship game. Billy played football at and graduated from Cheyenne East High School. An exceptionally talented outfielder, he was drafted out of high school (2007) in the 50th round by the Colorado Rockies. He played college ball at Northeastern Junior College and Mesa State. He lives in Cheyenne and works at the family business—McHenry and Sons Concrete Construction.
Jake O'Donnell - Jake O’Donnell played in the Post 6 program beginning in 8th grade. That year he played for Post 6 Prep under coaches Mark Robért and Chase Tavelli. In his Freshman year, he played for both the Hawks and Sixers. During his Sophomore, Junior, and Senior seasons he played strictly for the Sixers under Head Coach Tagg Lain. He was an outstanding utility athlete and played first base, third base, pitcher, and catcher. Jake is tied for the single-season record for pitching wins (14). He won four Wyoming State Championships with Post 6 in 2004, 2005, 2006, and 2007. In 2006, he played an integral role in Post 6’s Regional Runner-up finish. He was named the Most Valuable Player at the 2007 Wyoming American Legion State Baseball Tournament. He went on to play college baseball at Clarendon College in Texas. Jake is married to his high school sweetheart, Megan. They live in Cheyenne with their two kids, Braelyn and Jack.
