The spark plug of the greatest 4 year run in Post 6 history, Julian Romero! Julian not only ignited the team through his play on the field, but also with his fiery emotion. And that type of leadership brought an average record of 62-16 in Julian’s 4 years with Post 6. In fact, if you include the two years playing in the younger levels of Post 6, Julian helped his teams to a 341-97 record in 6 seasons. Julian’s career with The Sixers started in 2020 when he was originally slated to play that season with the Hawks. But manager Ty Lain had a young varsity squad and didn’t mind bringing up another youngin when he felt the team was in need of a spark. Romero came up and delivered, playing in 38 games while hitting .326 and creating nearly 50 runs scored that season. That trend continued the rest of his Post 6 career as Julian played in 251 games with over 900 plate appearances while hitting .349 with a .453 on base percentage. Julian also drove in 184 runs while scoring 213 runs and smacking 59 doubles in his career. Julian also pitched some for Post 6, logging 90 innings with 106 strikeouts and a 3.83 era. But it was overshadowed with his electric lefty swing and flare for the dramatic. That was shown off in Post 6’s magical 2023 run to a final 4 finish in the World Series. In that postseason he drove in 9, scored 14, and smashed 8 doubles. Of those doubles, 2 were walkoffs that kept The Sixers season alive. On championship Sunday at the regional, he hit a walk off double to advance Post 6 to the regional title game helping them win their first ever Regional Title and World Series berth. Then at the World Series, Julian tallied Post 6’s (and Wyomings) first hit ever in ALWS play before later blasting another walk off double to secure Post 6 their first win in ALWS play and help them stay alive. Now Julian is in his sophomore season and the University of Jamestown where he and his Jimmie teammates will look to win in 2024. Post 6 wants to wish them the best of luck!
