Another of  our  gridiron SIXER spotlight is Andrew Johnson! Andrew played two seasons with Post 6 , and they were two electric years. Andrew helped propel Post 6 to Connie Mack World Series berth his first year in a Sixer uniform. That season Johnson played in 74 games while batting .344 with 56 RBI and 66 runs scored. Andrew had 14 doubles and 11 triples while creating a no fly zone in centerfield. In year two as the Post 6 center fielder, Andrew led his squad to a 51-20 record and their 19th state title. That season he carved out a .388 batting average while legging out 21 doubles and 19 triples while tacking on two homers. Andrew drove in 76 RBI while scoring 70 runs. In Johnson’s two years combined he had 175 hits and was successful in 64 of 70 stolen base attempts. Andrew stepped off the baseball diamond for Post 6 to rock the brown and gold on the gridiron. This last season was Andrew’s sophomore season at the University of Wyoming where he worked his way up to the back up strong safety and an anchor of the kickoff team unit. Johnson tallied 7 total tackles his sophomore season, 4 solo, while recovering a fumble. Post 6 is excited to watch Andrew continue to work his way up the depth chart for the Cowboy defense and wish him and his team the best of luck in the 2024 season!
