Post 6 Bio Baseball began for me at the budding age of 9. Like most young baseball athletes playing for the first time, I was not good. To put it bluntly I sucked. But I loved playing the game, so I kept at it. And kept at it. I’d say around 3 to 4 years of playing my persistence paid off, my game improved. As my skills improved my obsession for the game grew. When I say my obsession grew, I became obscenely obsessed with the game of baseball. I remember my brother and I hitting dry pinto beans with a broom stick. We hit those old school two gallon Alhambra water bottle plugs. We hit whatever fell from the trees in our neighborhood. We broke windows and damaged siding on houses. We caused superficial damage to cars parked along the street. We hit for hours upon hours. And we loved it! Eventually my passion for the game led to me being a stand out high school, then JUCO ball player. My success at the high school and JUCO level led to me earning a scholarship to play Division 1 baseball at San Jose State University. In 2001 I was drafted by the Milwaukee Brewers. Upon the conclusion of my playing career in 2004, I began my coaching career at San Jose City College. I coached at San Jose City for 1 season before life took me in another direction. Although I was not actively coaching baseball, coaching and teaching was never too far away. From CrossFit Trainer, to Field Training Officer, to Defensive Tactics Instructor, to Strength and Conditioning coach to name a few, coaching has been a constant in my life. In 2021 life came full circle when I helped coach my son’s 12U WYCO baseball team. Now it’s 2025 and Skip Barker asked me if I wanted to help out with the Post 6 program and I said, hell yeah. I look forward to helping develop these baseball athletes into capable young men. And win ball games!
